Shelter

Shelter is a movie about a gay artist struggling to find his niche in the world. Caught in a web of commitment and conformity to what others think he should be, he struggles to break free. A lackluster mother for a sister, a disinterested father, a nephew to care for and numerous crappy jobs. His only escape lies in his art and the surf. All that changes when his best friends brother returns to town and reawakens his ambition to once again try for art school.

The plot is captivating and the actors are decent. The true highlight for me in this film is the soundtrack. The music is some of the best I've heard in a gay movie. This is a great relaxed night in movie with a friend, your partner or by yourself.

MPAA: Rated R for language, some sexual content and brief drug use.
